Live Edge Curly Maple Charcuterie Board

This charcuterie board is made from curly maple. What causes this curl is still up for debate. Some say a genetic aberration in a particular tree, while others think it’s caused by environmental stress. Whatever the reason, figuring makes each board that much more unique. After roughing out the shape, each board was sanded with 80 grit sandpaper, 120 grit sandpaper, 180 grit sandpaper, 220 grit sandpaper, and finally finished with 400 grit sandpaper to give a glass-like finish. Between each sandpaper grit, the grain was raised to prevent the wood fibers from raising throughout the many years of use this board will see. A cutting board care card is included with each board, along with a 0.75 ounce container of Walrus Wood Wax to help keep your board conditioned for years to come. As always, for each purchase a tree will be planted to mitigate our impact on the environment.
